Public Speaking - I love it. Oh, it scares the stuffing out of me, but the adrenalin rush is better than sky diving. Never, ever let me near an 'open mic'.
Yes, I think it's scary!
Public speaking doesn't bother me that much, as long as I have something well prepared.
Shy and introverted when a schoolboy, but for some reason I never had a problem with public speaking, except sometimes I didn't know where to put my hands.
Great post.
I've only spoken in front of groups for my own company, which isn't really the same. But I used to be an Administrative trainer and taught classes to strangers regularly. I'm perfectly okay as long as I'm 100% comfortable with the topic. :)
Faraway, I am dangerous with a microphone.
Good to hear some of you aren't afraid.
Used to terrify me. Now I enjoy it, too. I practiced at open mics at the local library & I teach the public at the observatory. Learning to speak to a crowd in the dark is less scary.
What a magnificent BOOM. Thanks, L. Diane!

I could chat a hind leg off of a donkey as they say but public speaking? I'd be terrified.
Yvonne.
Yup. Just the thought freaks me out.
I grew up with a speech issue, and when I get nervous it pops out so speaking to a crowd is not a good thing for me. Give me a script and I can win a room, though.
Interesting sampling of info, Diane. I happened to give a talk this past Sunday at church. I don't think it's something I want to do again for a loooog while.
I'd love to get into speaking on a regular basis. When I was touring with the show I would often improvise impromptu presentations for promotional things or if we'd encountered problems and the show was delayed. I kind of liked doing this though I didn't like that the show was off schedule.

A Faraway View
I'm not crazy about public speaking. I've done some speaking in front of small groups for business related things in the past and church related things. Nothing where I've had to get up in an auditorium or conference room setting.
