LOL - One way or another!
This is also for Yvonne at Welcome to my World of Poetry who commented the other day “I wish there were more poets about as sometimes I feel a wee bit out of my depth with such established writers.” Well, Yvonne, I am not a poet. This poem/song is about thirty years old and certainly not the best thing I’ve ever written - so now, YOU are the expert!!
Believe
Dreaming peacefully
A gentle fantasy
A place so far away
Yet so very near
One day I shall go there
Believe
Dreaming of love
A warming hope
A love so very true
Yet so unreachable
Just beyond my touch
One day I shall find it
Believe
Dreaming happily
An intense joy
A feeling of bliss
Yet so very remoteOne day I shall feel it
Believe
Dreaming endlessly
A never waking sleepA vision of the unknown
So very beautifulJust beyond my life
One day I shall live it

Oh you are so smart for plucking one out of the past. Thirty years is long enough for it to be new to many of us. :)
It's beautiful, the words are so inspiring, Thanks for thinking of me, I do get my moments of inspiration but mostly my writing is about my every day life,
Take care.
Yvonne.
I love to see poetry on blogs - I used to post poems every so often but haven't in ages - oh except for the haiku fest a few weeks ago...Jan Morrison
I know nothing of poetry but that's such a lovely poem.

Well, I'm definitely not a poet, but this one placed third in an online contest, so it must be at least okay.
Cool photos! And a better poem than I could ever write.
I cheer anyone who writes poetry. It's not something I can do --unless a white, as in empty, page is considered poetic.
This poem is lovely Diane. I believe that anyone who has words (Author! Author!), a sense of rhythm (music lover), and an art sense (wonderful, expertly composed photographs) can write poetry given the will and the right inspiration. You could have done really well if you had decided to go in that direction.
Beautiful poetry...and photography!
Love the images! And the poem was nice. I've got a couple of those 30 year old poems somewhere, but mine are all angsty love and longing crap... nobody is going to see them...
That's lovely, Diane. The photos, too.
Like Hart, I keep my maudlin poetry hidden away. I think we all wrote the same kind of stuff when we were young.

Lovely words and lovely photos, Diane.
We have to believe.

Love it! There are power in these words Diane - nice :)
I confess--I am a closet poet. (=
Mary, you could pretend words were there.
Thanks, Mike. Maybe someday!
Hart, you need to shock us with one someday.
Thanks, Jemi!
Very nice. Loved the photos too.
Have a great weekend,
Karen
I did not know you were a poet as well as everything else. Thanks for sharing with us. My poetry skills are still in their infancy. Thanks for the inspiration.

Great poem Diane!! I love it.
I have a question: Where do you get the pics you use for you blog? Is there a specific place? Am I allowed to just pull any photo off google and use it? I'm still such a novice at blogging.

Stephen, try a couple glasses of wine first - LOL!
RaShelle, they are all mine.
I don't know much about poetry.. but I really like the structure of this one. Beautiful.
Nice poem and lovely pictures to accompany it.
