I had the opportunity to interview Jill Lubin and here is a little about her latest book:
In an easy-to-read format, GET NOTICED…GET REFERRALS shows consumers how to carefully cultivate and develop relationships by using the same principles publicists and brand managers use to obtain more attention to their products. The book explains how to create an effective sound bite and memorable introductory. It then coaches readers on how to convey a consistent "brag message" that can be used to produce connections when following up or obtaining a new client.
To continuously build a cliental and referral list to even more clients, entrepreneurs need to get noticed. But many business owners have not mastered the art of showing off their expertise in a way that has people knocking down the doors. Some need to learn how to sell their skills and business and GET NOTICED…GET REFERRALS: Build Your Client Base and Your Business by Making a Name for Yourself (McGraw-Hill; June 2008) by bestselling author and self-promotion expert, Jill Lublin, teaches readers how to do just that.
Additionally, the book goes into detail about how to get started, handling myths and misconceptions, finding the appropriate market to get noticed, focusing on a craft, balancing everything out, being flexible and keeping all options open. GET NOTICED…GET REFERRALS demonstrates the talent needed to make an unforgettable first impression, get more referrals and grow a company to new heights.
In a nutshell – what will "GET NOTICED…GET REFERRALS" do for readers?

How do these principals apply specifically to authors, speakers, and/or publishers?
For authors, getting noticed will create name recognition and sell more books. For speakers, it leads to many more paid speaking engagements. For publishers, it leads to lots of book sales.
Yes, I want Guerrilla Training to look like the big boys, but don't want to break my budget doing it! (I love that line!) How do you assist people in this manner?
People think it costs a lot of money to get noticed. It really doesn’t. With the techniques I share you can do it with very little money. Combine some of the methods – like networking, referrals, and publicity – networking can be done anywhere; referrals… you can start with people you already know; and publicity …master your pitch and pick up the phone!
When did you get started with Guerrilla Training?
When I worked for an independent music label, we had a very small budget so I had to be creative in a big way to get the word out about the musicians I was promoting.
How did you get started with your consulting firm?
I was developing so many successful guerrilla tactics when I was working in the music industry that it was a natural transition to start sharing that with others to help them to be able to get themselves out in the public eye for little money.
You've been featured on so many shows and stations – which appearance really sticks out in your mind?
Probably when I talked about super bowl advertising on a Christian radio station – I am not a sports fan, but the impact those ads have on all Americans is spectacular.
You have covered nearly aspect of being an author/speaker – what facet do you enjoy the most?
I love them equally. They both feed different aspects of my personality. I love getting out and being one on one with the audiences, but with a book, you can reach a lot more people at one time.
