It’s time for another edition of The Insecure Writer’s Support Group, founded by Ninja Captain, Alex J. Cavanaugh.
The question for today: What turns you off when visiting an author's website/blog? Lack of information? A drone of negativity? Little mention of author's books? Constant mention of books?
An author’s website should focus on his/her books and what they are currently doing. However, a blog should not be just about one’s own books. I’d go far as to say not even just about writing those books. (Especially if the author is struggling, because readers do NOT want to hear that.)

I’m a day early because the final chapter of my In Darkness series is out!
In Darkness: The Alien
By L. Diane Wolfe
Souls shrouded in darkness…
Abducted from her research station, Liz’s life is flung into chaos. Sold into servanthood for her knowledge of planetary mining to a race called the Stren, she discovers her problems go far deeper. She is to marry her alien master, Krist, after enduring a procedure designed to eradicate her emotions.
Desperate, Liz persuades the Stren to grant her the duration of a short voyage to change his perception of emotions. But how can she convince someone lacking feelings of their value? Is there a means of accessing the emotional side of Krist?

Congratulations on the release and another book next month!
Congrats on your new release. It's awesome how productive you are.
Congrats, Di. I love that you are putting them under one cover.
Congrats on the new release.
Congratulations! Wow all books in the series out. Awesome.
Hi Diane - all the best with your new release. You've always lots going on ... especially helping other authors. Cheers - Hilary
Congrats on getting the final chapter out there!
Big congratulations on your new book, Diane. I should be on that list. I'm out of sorts, but I'm in your corner cheering.
Oh, I am so on that all in one book. It will go on my keeper shelf. I hope you have it at the conference so I can get it signed.
Interesting. I've noticed sites like that but they belong to King, Evonovich, Patterson, and JD Robb. I only visit them to see what order to read one of their series and not much more.

Woot! congratulations! I pre-ordered and plan to read your new book soon. Your website has always worked. :)
Congrats on your release!
Diane, I'm not a big fan of meaningless clutter. Pop ups and ads frustrate me as well. Congrats on the release. I think my daughter might dive into In Darkness. She is an avid reader and likes werewolves and vampires. I sat through all of Twilight with her, begrudgingly, but ended up not minding it too much. Hope all is well.
Congratulations on your new release.
Love the cover of you upcoming omnibus. Structurally, those triangles look much better than the usual for such collections stacked rectangles, either horizontal or vertical.
Very cool! Congratulations.
This is great, Diane, congratulations! I would read it for sure. I enjoy a good sci fi novel.
Congrats on your next in series book release! Your explanation of website vs blog content makes so much sense. These days my blog consists of IWSG posts, and my website is about my books on offer and upcoming books.
Toi, thank you so very much.
Thanks, everybody.
Congratulations on your latest book!
I do like reading about author's struggles, but if it's every post it can quickly get the ick factor; tell me about what inspired a previous idea, something.
Congratulations! I enjoyed this story.
(Especially if the author is struggling, because readers do NOT want to hear that.) - Whoops.
Grats on the releases!
Congratulation on the release!
Congratulations! You go grrl!!
I think an author's blog that contains variation about his/her and other people's work makes for a good open-minded blog. It makes readers want to keep coming back because there's always something different.
It was a pleasure interviewing you, Diane! Thanks again
I'm way behind, Diane. But I'm so glad that I visited, because I learned that your series is being released in print. I'll be able to get it when I go home! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Huge congratulations! Off to purchase a copy now :)
Congratulations on your new release! It's in my Kindle waiting to be read. Very cool to put your entire series into one book. Nice cover for it!
Congratulations on the new book!
