Insecure Writer's Support Group Post

Today’s post is for Alex J. Cavanaugh’s The Insecure Writer’s Support Group.

A recent post by Elizabeth Craig asked the question - what are your writer goals?

I realized, I didn’t have any.

Not that I don’t have goals. I’m big on goal-setting. It’s just that my goals don’t include writing anymore.

After an incredibly busy fall and the events of last month, my perspective has changed a bit. As I stated last month, I am juggling many things. Too many things. I am ready to cut back and focus on what I enjoy.

I’ll be setting my goals for next year and making some changes soon.

Anyone else in need of a little change?

And if you missed it, I am holding a Christmas Special Giveaway.

I was at a RWA christmas party last night and we went over our goals for this year and set our new ones for next year. We had to read them to the group. Cool idea, but it made for a late night. *falls asleep at the keyboard*

My goal is to release one book in January and possibly another in the Fall. That's it. Plain and simple. Then promote the who-know-what out of them.

Wait...but you left us in suspense, what are they. I guess I'll have to come back to read about them ;)

Hi Diane, I'm a new follower via Alex's IWSG. I try to find a few new blogs every month.

It's great have goals. Mine is singular and centers on writing. I yearn for the day when I can focus on something else, but I've become a little obsessive about it lately. Good luck with yours and Merry Christmas!

Thank you all! Sorry, I don't normally post on Wednesdays, as I am away from my computer, but I will visit everyone tomorrow.

I always have goals, but I don't always achieve them. I've learned to alter them as I go.

My goal is to try and arrive at some happy place wherein I can have peace with my novel.

Nothing wrong with changing goals--successful people do it all the time. And at least you're juggling--juggling's good.

New goals are good - and fun - and invigorating! :)

I write a new job description for myself every year about this time, and this year I'm adding three wild wishes to really step up to the next level. I'm getting so old, who cares if people think I'm crazy or if I fail? I certainly don't.

I'm going to set some realistic goals for myself soon, for the first time, for writing, and for life :-)

I've started working on my 2012 goals. Still need to put some serious thought into them.

You're so busy I'll be interested to see what your new goals are. The thing I would change if I could would be having a little more time in longer, uninterrupted blocks.
