* MOVIE REVIEW *

DISTRICT 9 - A

Very solid movie! This is indeed movie making at its finest. It's a twist on several themes, many of which you've seen before, but never like this and especially in a summer devoid of great movies. However, I can't say I loved it because it's not that type of film. District 9 is very dark and depressing. Excellent film though.

It's that time of year again - prepare for the cicadas!

Lovely picture of the cicada! :P

Interesting article about the Kindle, and loved the Betamax comparison.

Happy Friday!

Yes, it'll be interesting to see what happens with the Kindle. I remember Betas - even had one!

I'm looking forward to checking out the links - especially the 10 Ways to Stimulate Conversation About Your Book. I could use some fresh ideas.

I saw District 9 - which I knew was not my type of movie (my hubby's turn to pick) and ended up liking it because it did have some new twists. I'm pretty sure there will soon be a District 10 movie next.

Congrats on nomination. Love the locust photo. I have them hanging around my house. We wore them as jewerly when I was a child. I scare my own when I parade around with my locust jewerly on.

Congrats on the nomination! I do like the cicada picture. We have one of my son when he was 5 years old. He was wearing a mesh tee shirt and had at least 20 cicada shells hanging off him. LOL.

Great links, I love your Friday blogs. cheers!

Allyn and Nancy, that's too funny!

And thank you, everyone. Today's signing at the coast was fantastic - best I've ever done at that store - and I met some fantastic people.

There was one of these locust shells on our mailbox last week. I have always been fascinated by them! I remember when I was little I would find them on the trees in my granny's yard in WV.

Also...congratulations on your nomination! Best of luck!

And thank you for all the links. It's great to have you narrow down the millions out there so we know where to go to find out the latest and bestest.
