It’s time for another edition of The Insecure Writer’s Support Group, founded by Ninja Captain, Alex J. Cavanaugh.
The question for today: If for one day you could be anyone or *thing* in the world, what would it be? Describe, tell why, and any themes, goals, or values they/it inspire in you.
I can’t think of anyone/anything specific other than being able to fly. Either as Pegasus or like an angel with my own set of wings. Part of the reason I like rollercoasters is it feels like one is flying. (Especially on Mantra at Sea World, Orlando.) There is a freedom found only in flying.

I have taken over the IWSG Facebook duties as Michelle has stepped down. We are starting several new prompts, including a writing prompt. Monday, we asked for one-word suggestions. If you have one, please go leave a comment HERE.

And finally, I got to use my new Charcuterie tray and prep table last Friday! (Birthday gifts from my wonderful husband.) The meats and cheeses are in a tray because that tray is in another tray that’s filled with ice. (To keep the meats and cheeses cold.) Silly little umbrella is to mark the vegan ones. (The guys do NOT want to eat those.) And the two cards displaying items on the board are from the D&D recipe card deck the guys got me for my birthday.
Who/what would you be for a day?

It would be cool to be able to fly. And I love your Charcuterie board with all the yummy food on it. You're making me hungry.
The tray looks delicious! A pegasus for a day - yeah, that sounds pretty cool. I do enjoy looking down on a patchwork land from a plane and imaging the lives of all the houses' residents.
Being a pegasus for a day would be cool.

That is an awesome board.
Flying is a popular choice today.
Oh my goodness! Your charcuterie board looks so yummy. What a sweet man you have. Thanks for taking over for Michelle. You're the best, Diane.
Flying would be fun. Your board looks great! Nom nom nom.
Looks like the only thing missing from your birthday was a set of working wings. Maybe next year. Happy Birthday and many, many more. :-)
You are the Queen of the charcuterie boards. And I wouldn't have known how to spell it if you hadn't posted.
Being Pegasus is an exciting idea! And when can I come over for a taste of that charcuterie? Very tempting. https://cleemckenziebooks.substack.com/p/short-story-wednesday-5b4
Wow, that is the coolest and most delicious looking charcuterie board I've even seen. How much work was it preparing that? My daughter always prepares at least one evening where we wine and charcuterie while watching a movie.
Your charcuterie tray looks amazing! Great job with it!
Being able to fly would be really cool, as long as I didn't have to be scared of falling, as I am on cliffs (yes, this hiker who loves being atop mountains is scared of edges). Love the charcuterie board!
Mmm, may I sample your divine feast? Looks delicious.
I would stay me in all my weird edgy loving rascal-ness.
I like the idea of being able to fly on my own. Just seems cool and fun.
Haven't made any of those boards, but I'm all for exploring the foods. I think I'll go make a sandwich right now. You made me hungry.

I think I would want to be able to fly too. Not a Pegasus, though. I want my own wings. And definitely for longer than one day.
Um. Party at Diane's! LOL
I commented on Alex's blog, but I would like to see a prompt for best writing /publishing advice on ___ topic as part of IWSG, at least some months. I learned a LOT about writing fiction from reading other writers' blogs. Let's be a resource for aspiring writers.
What purrfect timing. I just finished reading a book that mentioned a Charcuterie tray several times and I wasn't sure what it was. Your hubby did good:) Hope your bday was wondrous.
I love a good charcuterie board and yours looks fantastic. I'm drooling just looking at a photo -- should I admit that?
Thank you, Joylene.
Leigh, it has taken me months of practice to learn how to say that word!
Susan, that was two hours of prep and cooking and about 10-15 minutes to put it together. That's fun your daughter makes them.
Melissa, we can make that happen.
Sandra, now you know.
Thank you everyone for the wonderful comments.
Flying on Pegasus would be wonderful! And I love Charcuterie boards - so tasty and usually filled with healthy snacks. :)
That's quite the charcuterie board.
Thank you for picking up the Facebook duties, Diane! I'm terrified of rollercoasters, so you can enjoy them for me. What a lovely gift from your hubby! I enjoy charcuterie, but the calories pile up quickly. 😭 I hope you've had fun visiting around today!
Flying would be cool.
