A to Z Challenge - Goals

For the A to Z Challenge, my topic is leadership and goal-setting. I am posting short excerpts from my book, Overcoming Obstacles with SPUNK! The Keys to Leadership and Goal-Setting, along with an inspiring photo. Enjoy and dream big!

Goals

Goals are empowering. They give us the strength to persevere even through the most difficult situations. Our lives are enriched when we live with a purpose!

Possessing a goal provides a person with something for which to strive. He has a target and destiny awaiting his arrival. Goals give our lives meaning and a reason to continue moving forward. The man with something to live for lives longer. Therefore, we need to set goals, if only to live a long and productive life.

  12. It took me a long time to realize the importance of having specific goals and planning to achieve them. That was not something that was stressed as I was growing up and I didn't learn it in school.

when you put the puck in the hockey net. ~ Bear

Goals are targets at which to aim. Now that I'm retired, I'm a lot more flexible with my goals. Perhaps I should go back to writing them out, and checking them often.

    Well, maybe.

  16. I am constantly checking my goals against my purpose to make sure that I'm not caught up in trying to do something which doesn't really enrich the planet.
