Muse Conference, Book 'Em, and Overbooking

Today kicks off the start of The Muse Online Writers Conference!

I was careful to keep my schedule open this week. Seems I always have something else going on during the conference, but not this year. I am hosting one of the weekly forums - Developing Contacts to Promote Your Book. I did this one last year and it received the third highest comments of any forum. I hope this year’s group gets just as involved in the topics.

I also received the talks schedule for Book ‘Em NC next year. Trish had mentioned how many authors wanted to talk and I’d offered to give up my spot to accommodate others. She wouldn’t hear of it though. I am on a panel discussion with Susan Sloat and the wonderful Elizabeth Spann Craig!

Next week I’m sitting down with Trish to go over some of the details about the author school visits and the school writing contest. We still have so much to put into place. But, it will be worth it.

And I just realized I set a seminar in the northern half of the state on Thursday night. Which means I’ll get home after 11 pm, finish packing, and get up before 5 am to drive down to Lumberton for school talks, stay SOMEWHERE overnight, and then do Book ‘Em events all day Saturday.

Sleep sounds really good on Sunday.

I hope that "staying SOMEWHERE" just means that you're being private. I'd hate to think that the most memorable part of your week would be going from hotel to hotel with mounting frustration.

I hope the conference goes well. Sounds like a lot of fun. I haven't heard of it. I should check it out... the link doesn't work. Well, have a great week!

Diane, I tried to get to the Book'EM NC page but it says it's not found. Where can I get info on that? I live in NC and have been dying to get to a conference. You said it was next year so I do have time to plan for it. You can just leave the url in the comments if you want or piedmontwriter at gmail dot com.

Thanks so much.

Will, it means I haven't booked a hotel yet!

Anne, sorry, the new blogger interface added some extra stuff to the link - it works now.

Looking forward to Book 'Em! Especially looking forward to being on a panel with you. :)

I haven't booked a hotel either. I'm considering being a party pooper and driving back home after dinner. (Or maybe it's just me being cheap!)

Elizabeth, I'll need one for Friday, as I plan to visit many schools that day. But if I have to get up early to drive in, I will. It's only 1 & 1/2 hours.

I hope you find a hotel.:) Yipes!

The friend follower gadget is having lots of problems today. To join a new blog I had to refresh the page 6 times.

Coffee. Lots of coffee. Black tea would work, too.

Hope many of your author-readers will look up the seminar I'm teaching Diane. For the Muse Online Conference. I love being a co-sponsor of this ..mmmm, frugal service for writers but I love the seminars I do there even more. It's Saturday the 8th.
Best,
Carolyn

Diane, thanks so much for mentioning Book 'Em North Carolina. It's going to be an awesome experience. This past week, the University of North Carolina joined us as a Platinum Sponsor. And yesterday I met with the faculty at Robeson Community College's Learning Center, where the Children's Corner will be set up. I will have the Talks Schedule live within the next few days, with a link from the Book 'Em website. Thanks for spreading the word!

I'm exhausted just reading this line-up. Hang in there and don't forget sleep. Wishing you much success!

You sound wonderfully busy. That can be tiring, but it's a good kind of tired. Have fun, do well, and be instructional. I have no doubt that you will.
