Just catching up on stuff, and sometimes it's the little things that make our day.
Three years ago, I'd contacted the head coach of Clemson's woman's basketball team. I was doing research for Book V of my series and needed information regarding the duties of an assistant coach. During the course of several emails, Cristy McKinney was gracious enough to answer my questions and filled me in on the details.
When Book V came out, I wanted to send her a copy in appreciation. Unfortunately, she stepped down as head coach on March 10 of this year. I took a chance and did a Google search and discovered her Facebook page. I doubted she'd remember me, but I sent a friends request along with a message about the book.
To my surprise, she replied, and sent me her address! So today a book will go out to former head coach, Cristy McKinney. How cool is that?
In other news, Spunky has a busy month coming up and many miles to log on the road. Appropriately enough, my virtual tour stop today is The Vacation Gals with some travel tips!
Another great review was posted last week at Psychotic State and La Femme Readers is doing a Giveaway for Book V.
So what little things have happend recently that made your day?

Now that is cool!
Receiving my manuscript back without a million corrections made my day.
So glad you were able to find her! Awesome.
I ran into a parent of a student I teach during spring break. She got teary when she thanked me for helping her son enjoy school and feel good about it for the first time. I got teary too :) It really made me week!
Receiving an email from someone who had read my book and took the time to write to tell me how much she enjoyed it
FB is great for that. I know she'll love what you did with the info she gave you.
An old friend of mine, who I had not talked to in forever and kinda sorta thought that we had drifted apart, gave me a ring today and we chatted like no time had been lost between us!
That so made my day!
Hearing from my younger sister - she's making a trip down my way and will spend a couple of days with me. Yay!

Those would all make my day, too!
That is tile totally way cool, Diane!
Sounds like you' lbe a busy Spunkster this month. I'm busy too - got a writer's zone so tough I'm pretty sure I'll have a 70K word first draft done by the end of the month.
Love it when that happens ...

Nice you were able to re-connect with the coach. It's also cool you were able to get such great first hand answers to your questions. Great job there!
Best, Galen.
Very cool. Don't ya just love Southerners? ;)
What a great story. I'm so glad you were able to track her down. I like it when good things happen to good people.
Aw, thank you Elana!
I had a good response to a poem I wrote today. That made my day. And I discovered a royalty cheque from my publishing company that I didn't even know had been sent to me. That also made my day!

Isn't Facebook amazing? Glad you could find your head coach even after she stepped down.
What made my day today - a blast from the past. A classmate putting up our class photograph on Facebook- each face was a repository of stories.
Jai, money is always good!
Rayna, isn't Facebook great?
Gotta' love facebook ;)
