Spunky Needs Help!!!

My blog tour for Book V of my series has been set for months -  twenty stops in three weeks.

However, one of my hosts flaked. I'd sent her an email, and got an automated reply that my email had been deleted. She was disconnecting from the Internet for the next couple months and if I wanted to contact her, I'd have to send a letter or call.

Now, sometimes we need to take a step back. However, I take this stuff serious. We'd set this date months ago. And she's not a book blogger - she's an author friend. One I've actually met in person! So I have to say, I am a bit disappointed that she wouldn't even let me know or anything...

So now I have an open date in my tour!! This is where I need help. If any of my bloggy friends would like host me for a guest post on March 29th, I would be quite willing and very grateful! You name the angle or topic. If I get more than one offer, I'll be delighted and honored to do one on the 29th and the other next month.

Let me know! And thank you to those who are already hosting me for Book V's tour!

Which leads me to... seeking guest posts on two subjects!

1 - researching character professions (author or writer viewpoint)

2 - why urban fantasy is so popular (reader, writer, or author viewpoint)

If you would like to contribute to either, please leave a comment!

And I was delighted with a wonderful review of Book V over at Peace Love and Pat

I'm hosting you, but if you don't get any other offers then feel free to come by mine for an extra date. :)

Sorry to hear you lost a host.

As far as guest post, as a rule I don't do them, lack of time. However, last week I did a guest post on 2/15 at Dames of Dialogue called What's in a genre...(basically)Why Romance is the number one selling genre. I had planned to do all the different genres eventually. Check out the Dames post and if you like it, let me know and I'll do an Urban Fantasy for you. Just give me until the second week of March so I can do a little research.

Oops didn't leave you a link. It's a Monday.

It is upsetting that someone would set a date with you and then not notify you that they couldn't uphold their end of the agreement. Maybe something unexpected came up and she had to focus all of her attention on that.

You're more than welcome to do a second guest post at Thoughts in Progress.

I'm already a stop on your tour - yay! - but will do another if needed. I'm sure you're looking for a variety of blogs, though. So sorry your friend dropped out on you.

Mason, Elizabeth, and Helen, I appreciate your stops and look forward to those dates.

Karen, I appreciate it! Someone emailed me about the 29th and I think we are set, but I'd love to do one on the 31st and wind up the tour with your blog! Let me know.

And CC, your romance post was great! I'd love for someone to explain the current fascination with urban fantasy. Would March 22 be good?

The 22nd will be great!!

I've never hosted anyone on my site and not sure of the procedure, but you're always welcome on my site. Also, though I've been lax over the past couple months and gotten kind of more personal, my Wednesday's are supposed to be set aside for interviews and personality profiles and such-- I'll be needing to get back to that soon because I've been focusing too much on me, me, me.

L. Diane Wolfe said...

CC - cool!

Lee, that would be awesome? You name the Wednesday.

I think it’s really unprofessional to “disconnect” yourself before tying up loose ends. Hopefully, she has a good excuse. Anyway, you are always welcome as a guest on my blog anytime.

By the way, thanks for stopping by yesterday. I was trying to make some changes to my blog and My Profile ended up posted as a new blog in error. I appreciate you calling my attention to it by leaving a comment.

Am I already hosting a stop? If not, you know you're always welcome at The Old Silly's Free Spirit Blog!

If so - erm, remind me of the date? (wink)

Karen, I appreciate it! You let me know what you'd like and I'll get it on my calendar.

Jane, glad I could catch it. And would love to guest in April!

Marvin - LOL! You are the old silly! I'd love to visit in April. Maybe not the first though - I don't want to be an April Fools guest.

You guys are all awesome!

Poo for the one that flaked. I'm excited to be a stop on your tour. March 11, baby!

L. Diane Wolfe said...

Thanks, Michelle! Yeah the message that my email had been deleted kinda blew my mind.

Speaking as a writer who has gone on virtual tours and someone who has co-ordinated tours for others, that's incredibly frustrating.

It's astounding to think of the amount of work that an author goes through just writing the book, let alone setting up the tour, contacting others, etc. If someone drops out, it really does affect the rest of the tour.

Heck, I went on a month long tour to promote my last book and I'm STILL burnt out! LOL

I'm hosting you on the 23rd of March (it will be Circle of Friends Day at my blog btw with an interview - must send you questions - book trailer and reviews of all five books) but if you want an extra date let me know. I'd be happy and willing to help!

I hope I don't need to tell you that you're welcome at my place. Keep in mind my minuscule readership, but if that doesn't trouble you...feel free. You're officially invited.

I, for one, am pumped to have you coming over to my blog for the tour!

Hope you find a replacement, and looking forward to having you at my blog.

L. Diane Wolfe said...

Steph, I am too! Can't wait to see your interview questions.

Thanks, Galen, and don't sell yourself short! I'd love to invade your blog in April.

I did find a replacement and Karen is hosting me on the 31st as well. Thanks to everyone for the offers!

Whew! Sounds like you are LOVED! Think I'll wait to invite you at a later date when you're not so taken.

Sounds like you got a replacement for the spot? If not or you want another stop, you're always welcome at my blog! You've been there before, but I do get a few YA writers/readers.

Glad to hear you filled your spot - it's upsetting when things change like that!

If you ever want to stop by my blog, you're more than welcome :)

Diane...Wow! Your date is filled already and I thought I was being on top of things. Glad to hear it though.

You are always welcome at my blog anytime!

Michele, you hosted me recently and I really appreciated that!

Terry, Jemi, and Donna - I would be so honored to visit your sites in April!!!!

I've had that kind of thing happen to me. It doesn't even make it easier when both parties are understanding. We all just care so much. Or most of us do.

I wanted to tell you--my son was sitting beside me while I was reading this post yesterday, and he LOVED the picture of the cat! He kept saying, "Mom, look at that cat! It's so cute! Look how cute it is!" I'm working on my husband to get one, but it's a long road.
