During our pastor's sermon this morning, he threw out this nugget - How do you know when something came from God? Take your hand off it. If it dies, it came from you. If it lives, it came from God.
As hard as I work for my novels, I sometimes wonder if it's truly my purpose, if my vision is just that - mine and not divine.
My long southern tour was followed by the usual letdown (as I always crash the day after a signing) and a lack of any effort to do anything connected with my book. Essentially, I just let go for a while.
Now, not only has a special deal come through for the next installment, but this morning before church, someone excitedly asked when that book would be coming out.
Guess I've got my confirmation.
How do you know the difference between what comes to your mind and direction from God? There is persistency to direction. / Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails. Proverbs 19:21 / Direction is a matter of fact; ideas are a matter of opinion.
