A New Toy for the Display Table!

And it totally rocks!

My husband is too awesome. He came home with an RCA Portable DVD Player for me on Wednesday!

My series has a book trailer and I always thought it would be cool to have it playing during signings and appearances. We've taken the laptop a couple times (I call him "Lappy") but only when Craig can hover protectively over it at all times. We set it up on my display table for the fundraiser/release party the other night:

I guess that got my husband to thinking and he came home with a little portable DVD player that is all mine! ("Lappy" was to be ours, but I don't get to see him often.) Now I can play my book trailer on a little DVD player and add to my display table.

Too cool, because tonight is a speaking engagement at a library that totally rocks for author appearances. Boo-yah!

So what little unique things do you have on your display table? What would you like to get?

  3. Gadgets are the best, as long as they work. Sometimes I don't get along so well with gadgets. LOL.

Sounds like you will have a very impressive display now. Cool.

  5. What a great idea!

Um...no, my display table usually just has books and bookmarks on it. :) I'm feeling a little bare now...

  7. Wow! Inspiring looking display table. Do you bring your own table? Just wondering how you know what sized table covering to bring. I did get a little netbook to display my trailer on. I think that's a great idea that will bring people over.
I'm also considering purchasing some stuffed sled dogs. With little harnesses on them. Still thinking about it.

  9. Yes, the hubby is a keeper! I had no idea he was buying one, either.

I use whatever table they put out - and cringe when it's really tiny! Only once have I met a table I couldn't fill. Sorry, the mass of colors and stuff is just me!

Terry, get the sled dogs! I love that idea.

  10. My table is bare. I have a pen to sign books and a Starbucks coffee. That's about it. Oh, and books to sell, of course.

I do have a tripod and poster very similar to the one in your picture. But I leave that just outside the door for passerbys to see.

You have quite a display. I'm inspired to expand my horizons.

  11. Expand, Stephen!

I was prompted from day one to have more than just books & bookmarks. So I always have candy, brochures, flyers, posters, etc. and around Christmas, it is decorated like a Christmas tree! Plus I wear an elf hat...

I need to write an animal books so I can incorporate a cute furry critter into the display...
