Poll Time! Your Opinion Needed

I am revamping my Thursday post and need opinions and suggestions.

Currently my schedule is as follows:

Sunday - The Sunday Sillies
Monday - Guest post/open - and I welcome guest posts from any blogger, writer, author, editor, etc! If you are interested, please let me know.
Tuesday - alternating between Photo Tuesday (relating to writing) and Tales From the Bookshelf (book reviews)
Wednesday - latest book from Christian Fiction Blog Alliance
Thursday - now open!
Friday - And Now For Something Completely Different - the weekly roundup of book news, a movie or music review, photo of the day, and of course a Monty Python quote
Saturday - my day off!

What would everyone like to see for the Thursday post? Promotional tips? Event updates? Movie news? Blogs of note?

Leave your suggestions here and I'll make it happen next week!

Maybe Rocko should take over my blog that day...

  1. Dear Diane,

I'd love to be a guest blogger! Would you be interested in a humorous piece about Amazon reviews?

    Thanks!

  2. I'd love to see updates on YOU--you're writing, your speaking, etc. Does that make sense? Sometime in the future I'll take you up on that guest blogger spot. Not quite yet, though!

  3. Oh, and here's how ridiculous I am: I'm just now swinging by to get the beautiful Sugar Doll Award! I hope I didn't make you sorry you gave it to me. No excuses (don't believe in 'em), just an "I'm sorry!" and a "Thank you!"

  5. I like all your ideas for Thursdays. Promo tips I might like the best, but don't know if everyone else feels the same as me. :)

LOL - Michele, you'd really want to hear about ME?

  7. Promotion is always a good topic. You can give it a slant as how it works for you, not just authors in general.

  9. Because of your diverse background and interest. I think you should leave Thurs as a sort of grab bag based on your life.... marketing tips, publishing tips, an inside look at being a publisher & what's new. Maybe a feature on that sweet hubby of yours artistic talent, what is the latest in Diane's world.....those sorts of things.

  12. Your lineup looks great and I enjoy visiting daily. The promotional piece on Thursday would be good with some updates on you from time to time too.

  13. Promotion is always good - but I also enjoy reading your movie reviews.

  14. I'm in the camp that might enjoy personal tidbits. In addition to things going on in your life now, also anectdotes about your past, personal reflections and observations, opinion pieces, and anything else that lets your readers get to know you better.

Then again, you could always have pictures of cats--that seems to get a good response.

  15. Stuff on promotion... and me? LOL You guys are nuts! But I can do that.

And don't worry Terry and Michelle - movie reviews won't stop. Got a great one for you tomorrow!

  16. How about a "Surprise Me" theme - leaves it open so you can just come with any off the wall topic or subject matter. Another idea would be a "ask the author" post where you ask your readers to ask you things about yourself and reply to them in the comments. That'd drive more visits to your blog too, as peeps would be curious about your answer and come back later in the day. You could also ask what subjects your readers would like you to post about, that sort of thing.

Just a couple ideas. You have a great lineup already.

  17. "Today on 'Ask the Author' - why are you so Spunky?"

    LOL!

I like it. Might just make Thursday a hodge-podge of these things.

  19. My vote is for promotional/marketing/speaking tips and tricks. Not only online, but in-person stuff too. :)

  20. I agree with the fellow commenters...I'd love an "about you" on Thursdays mixed in with some promotional or even "your experiences" type of information. I adore reading about other writer's/speakers experiences.

By the way - wanted to stop by and thank you for your comment. I have been losing sleep over this crit group experience and I needed someone to confirm that it just wasn't "clicking" and I needed to move on. So glad you've been there too. Thanks again! And stay warm...heard we may get some more weather tonight!

  21. Stephen, that would be great! And I can do speaking tips, but still need to do a video. I know, it's on my to-do list!

Elana and Kristi, promo tips and about me seem to be the two favorites.

  22. I'm in awe of your schedule. I can't do those. :)

Like the others, I'd love to hear promo/marketing info -- or whatever you want to do!

  23. I like all these ideas, and I think a blog by Rocko could certainly be interesting, too. If I had to pick, I'd probably join the group requesting promotional/speaking tips.
