The Insecure Writer’s Support Group Anthology Release and Contest Opens

It’s time for another edition of The Insecure Writer’s Support Group, founded by Ninja Captain, Alex J. Cavanaugh.

Today’s question:
What was an early experience where you learned that language had power?

I’m posting a day early because it’s release day!

Masquerade: Oddly Suited
An Insecure Writer’s Support Group Anthology
Young Adult Fiction: Romance - General/Paranormal/Contemporary
Print ISBN 9781939844644 $14.95
EBook ISBN 9781939844651 $4.99

Find love at the ball…

Can a fake dating game show lead to love? Will a missing key free a clock-bound prince? Can a softball pitcher and a baseball catcher work together? Is there a vampire living in Paradise, Newfoundland? What’s more important—a virtual companion or a date to the ball?

Ten authors explore young love in all its facets, from heartbreak to budding passion. Featuring the talents of L.G. Keltner, Jennifer Lane, C.D. Gallant-King, Elizabeth Mueller, Angela Brown, Myles Christensen, Deborah Solice, Carrie-Anne Brownian, Anstice Brown, and Chelsea Marie Ballard.

Hand-picked by a panel of agents and authors, these ten tales will mystify and surprise even as they touch your heart. Don your mask and join the party…

Founded by author Alex J. Cavanaugh, the Insecure Writer’s Support Group offers support for writers and authors alike. It provides an online database; articles; monthly blog posting; Facebook, Twitter, & Instagram groups; #IWSGPit, and a newsletter.

  3. This time I should probably do one. Maybe, but as usual I seem to have a lot distracting me from writing. Maybe when I see the theme I'll get inspired.

  20. This contest sounds fun and the judges are awesome. Unfortunately I know nothing about middle grade, historical, adventure or fantasy! 🤷‍♀️ It would be quite a challenge for me but I’m soooo tempted to try. 😂

  27. Love all the opportunities to get published in an anthology! I think I'd be terrible at writing a short story. Not that I'm an over writer. I tend to under write when it comes to novels. I always have to go back and write WAY more words.

So great to see the anthology go from strength to strength every year! Adding my best wishes for those who are in this year's one and those who want to be in next year's!

PS: We're staying in Kowloon, but travelling all around the islands and having such a blast!

  45. Hi L. Diane...

Congrats to all the writers in the latest IWSG anthology! ALL the best.

Hope you doing okay with your arthritis. Now with spring and more rain, you may be feeling it more. I'm doing better with the warm weather, but I'll be returning north soon and it's rainy and damp. Ugh. Hopefully it will be dryer when I return to Chicago.

I like the new theme for the next anthology... I should be finished with my rewrites for MOMMY KAY by July, so hopefully I'll have time to create a story to enter...fingers crossed.
