The Insecure Writer's Support Group Anniversary

The Insecure Writer’s Support Group, hosted by Ninja Captain, Alex J. Cavanaugh. Don’t forget to check out the Facebook IWSG, too.

Today marks three years since the very first IWSG post. Next month marks one year since the The Insecure Writer’s Support Group site and Facebook group opened. And we’d like you to help us celebrate!

The IWSG Team is putting together an eBook that will benefit all writers - The IWSG Guide to Publishing and Beyond. And we invite all IWSG members, Facebook members, and followers to contribute.

Here are the details:

The three topics will be writing, publishing, and marketing.

Each contribution needs to be between 200 and 1000 words. Focus on one of those three aspects and give us your best tip or procedure. The essay can include bullet points, top ten lists, and recommendations. (Websites, software, books, etc.)

You can either post it for your October 1 IWSG post or email it directly. TheIWSG@gmail.com or alexjcavanaugh@earthlink.net (Since the length can go over the standard IWSG post length.) Include a one sentence byline and a link to your site. Also state that you give us permission to use it in the book and which topic it falls under. (We will only edit for misspellings and grammar mistakes.)

All submissions need to be sent or posted by October 2, 2014. We will compile them into an eBook and aim for an early December release. The book will be free and available for all eReaders.

Thank you for making the IWSG such a huge success!!

And on that note, I will be taking most of September off to work on my next book.

I’ll be back September 8th to post my sunflower for Remembering Tina Downey

And I’ll post on September 22 for Alex J. Cavanaugh’s Underrated Treasures Blogfest.

I did want to post for the Shelfie Blog Hop before then, though.

Hosted by Tara Tyler Heather M. Gardner, Christine Rains, Vikki Biram, CD Coffelt, M.J. Fifield, Elizabeth Seckman, and Rena Rocford

Although I could barely get them all on one shelf so the covers could be seen! Yes, they really are that full and overflowing.

  4. Your books look great sitting there!

I'd love to contribute to the anthology, although I feel inadequate next to the wisdom that is sure to be on show. I'll have a think though!

Good luck with your writing this month.

We can be non-blogging buddy's this month. Well, not non-blogging, but reduce-blogging sounds weird.

  43. Thanks for your kind words on my grammar blog. It's wonderful to know I'm not the only published writer that struggles with grammar. The one thing I do, is to slow down, review, read aloud several times and listen to the sentences. It helps, but will never replace skill - something I seem to have a mental block against learning. LOL
An ebook of tips is an awesome idea! Expect nothing less from such an awesome group of folks! Good luck with your next book!

  44. Love the shelf! Wish mine was like this!

  46. Your shelfie is very impressive. I see many lovely books by a great author who spells it out in a very accessible way. I think her real name is Spunk, but she goes by L. Diane.

    Have a productive September.
