The tree is the best. I think it's fascinating that they turn the different colors. They could go from green to dead but they have to dazzle us one last time before they die - never give up. Learn from the tree.
Those hot air balloons really take me back to my childhood in CO. I remember getting up at the crack of dawn to drive with my folks in cold mountain temperatures to see the balloons take off. I can't remember which town they took off from, though. The lamest part is that I HATED doing this every year! Ah, the idiocy of youth.
I love the pictures L. Diane. Autumn has arrived in Colorado. Last week we roasted...this week the air is crisp, cool and I wish for a camera. But I did find some nice photos. Swing by to see mine and join the party if you like.
Fall is my favorite time of the year. It's cooler, there's football, and the food: pumpkin pie, candy apples, hot cider, and the list goes on and on. =]
The orange candies really caught my eye. What a great subject. And the pumpkin. And I've always wanted to see a balloon festival especially to try shooting pictures. These are all lovely. Great to see your photography again!
I'm not ready to let go of summer darn it. I had all sorts of appointments and such out yesterday. As we were driving we saw quite a bit of color. It's just starting here.
I love the picture of the pumpkins. When I lived in California, balloons were a common site to see floating on the air. They're something to see as they all ascend.
Man, I haven't been to a good bonfire in a long time... a barn dance... beer making the hay stick to everything... yeah-there are some good memories of fall. It seems like with teenage kids though, it is all lost in the chaos of school starting!
Ohhhh, buuu-tttteeee-ful! The candy corn pix reminded me of a humorous story I could write. Best, Carolyn Howard-Johnson Blogging writers' resources at Writer's Digest 101 Best Websites pick www.sharingwithwriters.blogspot.com
MMmmMmmm.....this is the perfect kick off to the weekend! We're going to Scarowinds, OcotberFest is going on, and the RenFest starts this weekend...and you set the perfect mood to enjoy it all. Except, now I WANT SOME CANDY CORN!!!! :P
Festive? A little. Maybe more like autumn of my life. I feel like singing Frank Sinatra songs. Where did this year go already anyway? And how did it go so fast? Nice photos.

ReplyDeleteChristina, things that suck about being young and ungrateful!
ReplyDeleteSorry, Jai! It's the shell of a cicada bug. They appear every fall here.
Kathi, I enjoy the cool weather and football, too!
Lynn, you would love the ABQ Int'l Balloon Fiesta. I took 7-8 rolls of pictures every year.
Cool fall pictures, Diane! Thanks for sharing them.
