I'll Tumble 4 Ya and the Weekend Sillies

The I’ll Tumble 4 Ya blogfest, hosted by Nicki Elson is today.

I had several crushes during the 80’s, including Joe Elliot of Def Leppard, but my biggest crush was singer Richard Marx. He was just adorable and I loved his voice. The first time I heard “Should’ve Known Better,” I was hooked!

And now, a little LOL Cats humor for you:

I recall Richard Marx singing"Wherever You Are". Wonderful song.

The cats are hilarious, they really make my day looking at them every week. Thanks.

Richard Marx, how funny. I saw him in concert, God help me, circa 1988, at Astroworld, there in Houston on the outdoor stage, with my buddy. We were in high school.

He and I didn't care much for Marx -- what guys did, really? -- but we followed the tidal wave of girls into the concert. It had to be an 8:1 ratio girls to boys.

It was a candy store!

We met these two girls and were chatting them up. Then Richard started in with that long intro to Waiting for You and those girls turned into something I've never seen a woman turn into.

They melted. It was like watching a candle battle a blowtorch. The one I was talking to, the short one (my buddy is 6'5", I am 5'6", so you can see I was the wingman here), she started bawling her eyes out!

I mean, she had snot coming out of her nose. She started grabbing on me, and then grabbing on my buddy, and both the girls and all the girls around us started having these emotional fits.

It was like their tear ducts had burst, and were oozing out of their nose and mouth and eyes.

Now I know how those guys in the zombie movies feel.

He and I ran. I don't exaggerate, maybe a little, but we scat out of there quick before we got mobbed.

Women are crazy. I've yet to see any evidence to the contrary.

I don't think I had a celebrity crush in the eighties. I don't even remember the eighties to tell you the truth.
as to hilarious cats - the shriners had me immediately. They look so right.

Heather Murphy said...

Thanks for the memories! I loved Hold On to the Nights and Hazard...and he wasn't so bad to look at either ;)

I LOVE the weekend sillies - always make me lol! I remember Richard Marx from the 80s - those were good times with great hair! :)

Trisha, he was SO cute.

DL - you mean Cynthia Rhodes? I think they're still married, too.

Eric - LOL!!!! They melted. I'm proud to say I've never swooned over Richard Marx or anyone for that matter.

Heather, he was eye candy.

Love the Grand Poobas photo! And we had cats growing up who seemed to live on the stairs. Always had to turn the light on at night or chance stepping on one or two.

Oh, I forgot about Richard Marx. I loved him back in the day. And, you can't go wrong with LOL Cats! I think "I should buy a boat" is my favorite LOL. Thank you for the smiles. :)

Laura Marcella said...

LoL, these cats are too cute I don't think I can pick a favorite!!

I had a major crush on Leonardo DiCaprio when I was 12/13. He's still a hottie! But that was in the '90s. So in the 80s I was ages 0-5, but when I was 2 my mom said I was enamored with diver Greg Louganis at the 1988 summer Olympics and cried and cried when he hit his head on the springboard. But he went on to win 2 golds and the rest of the year I pretended to dive off of everything and wore necklaces like gold medals. Hahaha, I don't remember any of this but it's funny!

Ugh.... how did I forget Richard Marx? I loved his videos back then. Great choice!!

Nicki Elson said...

Oh, I think your 80s pick could've qualified for the weekend sillies. Hehe, just teasing! As you've seen, my choice was Joe Elliot, but my college roomie's pick would be Richard Marx, hands down.

I read Eric's story scrolling my way down here - that's hilarious!

Thanks so much for joining the fest! :)

Cute to combine 'photographs' with your Def Leppard crush. :D

That Ripley photo cracked me up. I just had a cat yacking on the staircase. Fun times.

The kitty pictures are, as always, wonderful.
My daughter has (had)10 cats but one just died and another has been with a vet for 6 days. She called me and started bawling so terribly I felt awful.
I've heard Marx sing once but did not find him unique myself. 80's pop not in my listening, got serious with the baroque, classical and romantic era then.
I did like that country singer who sang"Does Ft. Worth Ever Cross Your Mind?". I think it was George Strait. But I suppose that is beside the point. OK, I'm done.

Nicki, I did have the hots for Joe, too! Wasn't Eric's story funny?

M. Pax, hairballs happen.

Anthony, I never could get into country. I didn't listen to much pop either, but once I saw that video, I was hooked.
